Lambert’s Bay Bird Island Nature Reserve is located about 100 meters from Lambert Bay, on the west coast of Cape. It offers visitors a rare opportunity to see closely the birds of the Cape with blue eyes. Lambert’s Bay Bird Island Nature Reserve is one of only six sites around the world where these birds breed and is the only reproduction site easily accessible to the public.
What to do:
The island, of almost 3 hectares, is connected to the mainland through a breakwater, and from the lookout point on the island, visitors can get close to birds and watch their dances. The hiding place is marked with interesting information about these seabirds and their habits
When to go:
The best time to visit Lambert’s Bay Bird Island Nature Reserve is during the breeding season from April to August.
